Wedding photography costs in DFW, 2027

How to read a DFW price

Every figure below is a published price from a Dallas or Fort Worth studio, read on 7 November 2026. None is an average. The guides that print one do not say how they reached it, and a real quote depends on the date, the venue and the hours.

  • Hours firstSix hours reaches the first dances. Ten covers the send-off. Every studio here prices in whole hours, and the extra hour after booking costs less than the one in the package.
  • Then the second photographerA second body is the difference between the vows and the reaction to them. In DFW it is either folded into the package or sold at $200 an hour.
  • Then the filmFour of the eight also shoot video. A photo-only quote and a photo-and-film quote differ by more than the film line, because the second crew changes the day.
A quote with no hours, no photographer count and no delivery date is a number you cannot compare.

The ladder at a glance

Published prices from eight Dallas and Fort Worth studios, read on 7 November 2026.

PackageHoursPhotographersPrice
Courthouse or elopement2–41$350–$1,500
Five to six hours5–61–2$1,800–$3,600
Eight hours82$4,000–$5,200
Ten hours102$4,500–$6,750
Photography and film8–102 + crew$4,500–$16,500
Engagement session1–21$400–$700

Two columns decide most of the price: hours, then whether a second photographer is inside the package or added later. The film line is the one that moves a quote into five figures.

What each tier buys

Every range is the low and high of published prices. Where a studio prints what the package includes, the entry repeats it.

01

Courthouse and elopement

$350–$1,500

two to four hours

A Fort Worth courthouse session at $350 · a Dallas two-hour package at $1,500 · hourly elopement coverage at $695, $795 on Saturdays

Best for a couple marrying at the county clerk with lunch after. Two hours is enough for the room, the signatures and twenty minutes outside.

02

Five to six hours

$1,800–$3,600

one or two photographers

The Fort Worth floor at $1,800 includes tax and 40 miles of travel · the Dallas six-hour packages at $3,000 to $3,600 add a second shooter or an engagement session

Best for the small wedding: a ceremony, portraits and the first hour of the reception. Ask whether the sixth hour is charged at the package rate or the higher hourly one.

03

Eight hours

$4,000–$5,200

two photographers

Eight hours with two shooters starts at $4,000 · $4,700 and $5,200 include an engagement session · gallery and print release in all three

Best for the standard Saturday: getting ready, the ceremony, and a reception that runs past dark. This is where the second photographer stops being optional.

04

Ten hours

$4,500–$6,750

two photographers, two locations

Two studios publish a ten-hour two-photographer tier · both include an engagement session · one adds 35mm film

Best for two venues and a long guest list, where the drive between the getting-ready room and the ceremony costs an hour of the day.

05

Photography and film

$4,500–$16,500

two shooters plus a film crew

Photo and film packages begin at $4,500 · $7,500 adds a documentary cut and an album · the top tier at $16,500 runs a full weekend with two parent albums

Best for a couple who want one studio answerable for both. The film crew's needs change the timeline, so the schedule is written earlier.

06

Engagement and portrait sessions

$400–$700

one to two hours

Sold alone from $400 to $700 · folded into most eight-hour packages · a Fort Worth studio adds $399 to a package for a session with makeup

Best for two people who want to meet the photographer before the wedding. It is the cheapest way to find out whether you like being photographed.

Five things that move the number

  1. Price the extra hour both ways. One studio charges $450 an hour after booking, another $600, and a third sells hours below its package rate.
  2. Ask whether the second photographer is inside the package. Added later it is $200 an hour, which is $800 across a four-hour reception.
  3. Ask about travel. One Fort Worth studio includes 40 miles; a Dallas studio prices Houston, Austin and San Antonio from $6,000.
  4. Compare the retainer. A non-refundable retainer holds the date, and it is not the deposit you get back if you move the wedding.
  5. Read the delivery line. Galleries arrive in four to six weeks at most studios here; film takes longer than the stills.

One quote tells you what one studio charges. Eight tell you where that quote sits.

The studio's own packages are on the investment page, and recent work shows what the hours buy. Before you sign, read the ten mistakes to check, and for the Austin market, what Austin charges.
